Current Trends and Future Prospects of Proton Therapy and the Potential Role of Optical Fibers

Abstract:

The seminar will provide a scientifically grounded overview of advances in proton therapy and the potential integration of optical fiber technologies. It will introduce the fundamental principles of proton therapy, its clinical implementation, and the underlying physics to establish a shared knowledge base. Current research trends, including dose-delivery precision, in-vivo dosimetry, and treatment monitoring, will be presented including the potential applications of optical fibers. The seminar will conclude with an outlook on future technological developments and interdisciplinary research opportunities.
