Units and natural constants - the revision of the SI system

This will be a general talk based on the 2020 edition of the book Kormos. The theme for the latter was units and natural constants and the 2019 revision of SI. I will give an introduction to the use of units and constants, including some historical aspects and societal contexts. That will be followed by an outline of the new definition of the kilogram (via the Planck constant), the definitions of the mole (via Avogadro’s constant), the kelvin (via the Boltzmann constant}, and finally the second and the metre (via the Cs hyperfine structure).
